Porto das Lajes<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The archaeological site of Porto das Lajes, which is partially excavated, corresponds to a residential and farming structure from the 6th century B.C. (Iron Age). Its use was probably seasonal and may be related to exploring the fertile plain next to the Mira River, which runs nearby.<\/p>

This construction is organised in two blocks separated by a central area of circulation; it consists of a residential area, where we can identify a hearth with a quadrangular plan, storage spaces and animal shelters. Today, only the foundations remain; made in stone masonry, they supported the rammed-earth walls.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
